APA Y-Advocate

A half-day interactive training for Asian Pacific American high school youth to cultivate the next generation of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) leaders. Attendees will engage in activities that will help them develop leadership skills, discuss the importance of advocacy, and investigate concepts surrounding AAPI identity. Learn More.

APIA U: Leadership Training

An interactive college leadership training program that assembles students from each region of the United States and focuses on self-awareness, team-building, and direct action organizing. Participants will be asked to challenge themselves, share their experiences, and develop leadership tools in order to effectively serve as catalysts for change.  Learn More.

ADVOCATES IN ACTION

The AdvOCAtes in Action Series (AIA) is a diversity, equity, and inclusion workshop and training series. In response to the increased rise in anti-Asian/American, xenophobic harassment, and anti-hate towards marginalized communities of color, OCA is providing educational and awareness tools to combat these types of systemic oppression. JACL/OCA LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

The JACL/OCA Leadership Summit is an annual intensive civil rights and advocacy seminar is designed to train 15 OCA and 15 JACL members in foundational and advanced advocacy strategies. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with and learn from members of Congress, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, Administration officials, government agencies, as well as partner organizations in the Washington, DC social justice community. AAPI WOMEN’S INITIATIVE

The AAPI Women's Initiative started as part of OCA’s effort to be more aware and inclusive of issues and challenges that AAPI women face. The Women’s Initiative Summits, half-day professional and leadership development summits specially designed for AAPI women, bring together aspiring leaders and experienced professionals. The Summits are designed to help AAPI women from various regions, sectors, and careers develop to their highest professional and personal potential. The Initiative also aims to develop a strong and uplifting network of AAPI women professionals across the nation. Learn More.

Internships

The OCA Internship Program is one of OCA's signature student leadership development programs. OCA intern alumni have become executive directors, legislative staffers, OCA National Executive Council members, and are leaders in the private and public sector. Internship placements are available year-round at the OCA National Center, where students work on OCA's program areas as well as assist with communications and development. Learn More.

B3: Build, Breakthrough & Believe

Launched in 2009, B3: Build, Breakthrough & Believe is a professional and leadership development program for aspiring Asian Pacific American (APA) professionals interested in taking their personal and professional goals to the next level through leadership development and networking.

Mentoring Asian American Professionals (MAAP)

The MAAP program aims to cultivate the next generation of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) professional leaders through mentoring, skills building, and networking. The program pairs young professionals and college students with experienced mentors. The program provides the foundation for an effective and valuable mentoring relationship, as well as guided group mentoring sessions designed to help participants achieve their highest professional and personal goals.
